What BestPlaces Users Say about Burlington

Burlington, Wisconsin is a small town located in Racine County, with a population of around 11,500 people. It has a charming downtown area, a low cost of living, and a strong sense of community. However, like any place, Burlington has its pros and cons. To get a better understanding of what it's like to live in this particular place, I have summarized and included excerpts from four different user reviews from the website BestPlaces.net.

1. According to user "Gina," Burlington is a "great little town" with "friendly people and a warm community feel." She also mentions the town's good schools and safe environment as reasons why she enjoys living there. However, she does note that the job market is limited and the downtown area can be "a bit sleepy" at times.

2. "Katie" describes Burlington as a "small, quiet town" with "plenty of parks and outdoor activities to enjoy." She also mentions the town's proximity to larger cities like Milwaukee and Chicago, making it convenient for day trips. However, she does mention that the winters can be long and cold, and there is not much to do in terms of nightlife.

3. User "Mark" shares that he has lived in Burlington for over 30 years and has seen the town grow and change. He mentions that the downtown area has improved with new restaurants and shops, and there are plenty of community events to attend. However, he does note that the town has become more crowded and traffic has increased.

4. According to "Samantha," the cost of living in Burlington is very affordable, especially compared to nearby cities. She also mentions the close-knit community and the abundance of outdoor activities. However, she does mention that the town can feel "a bit isolated" at times and there is not much diversity in terms of culture.

Overall, it seems that Burlington, Wisconsin offers a quaint and friendly small-town atmosphere with a strong sense of community. While there may not be a lot of job opportunities or nightlife, the town makes up for it with its low cost of living and access to outdoor activities. However, the town is not without its drawbacks, as some residents have noted limited diversity and a sleepy downtown area.

I've lived in or around the Burlington area most of my life. It's a great place to live and raise a family. People are spiritual, honest and genuine - truly the spirit of small town USA.
