Hudson, Wisconsin, located in St. Croix County is considered a great place to live by many of its residents. Located on the western border of Wisconsin, it offers unique scenery and outdoor adventure opportunities such as fishing, canoeing and kayaking, hiking and biking trails, camping, snowmobiling and more. The downtown area of this small city includes shops and restaurants to enjoy. Hudson also boasts an expansive park system that includes sports complexes, nature preserves, walking trails and picnic areas. Additionally, the community has preserved many of its historic landmarks including its first library building from 1878. Residents enjoy the quality of life that Hudson has to offer as well as easy access to nearby cities like Minneapolis and St Paul for additional activities or work opportunities.

Great place to live in Twin Cities - 3/26/2018
Let's face it, most of the negative reviews on Hudson are from people in Minnesota, simply because Hudson is in Wisconsin.
But basically everything about WI is better than MN, and Minnesotans hate hearing about it. Better government (Al Franken, Jessie Ventura, Walter Mondull, etc), lower taxes, better colleges, better roads, more affordable home prices, better football, better basketball, better golf and on.
To top that off, my friends in Stillwater MN (which used to be the coolest place to live in the Twin Cities) now all say that Hudson has a better downtown. More and better restaurants, shopping and night clubs. It certainly has a much better river park. Home for 30 years. Great place to live. - 1/1/2015
I can call Hudson home for the past 30 years. Being a Chicago resident when I first arrived it was a bit of a culture shock to move to a smaller town but over the years I have watched it grow and prosper.

Hudson is basically a bedroom community for the twin cities of St Paul and Minneapolis. On the far western border of Wisconsin located on Interstate 94, easy access to metropolitan perks while living in a town with a small town feel has made it quite attractive. Ample local shopping is available and for hard core shopping the cities, including the Mall of America are a short ride away.
