Your Perfect Vacation Destination - 11/11/2008
There's little doubt why Lake Geneva has been the preferred vacation destination for affluent Chicagoans for over a century. Crystal clear waters afford world class sailing and boating, peak swimmming temps June through September, and the shoreline features some of the most inspired architecture in the Midwest. Just about 80 miles from the City of Chicago, this gem of a vacation destination boats championship golf, high end and casual shopping options, fine dining galore, and activities for all four seasons. There simply isn't a more complete vacation destination in all of the Midwest. There hasn't been a better time to buy a vacation home here in nearly a decade. Not as beautiful as it used to be, Lake Geneva has suffered from city fathers who have cared more about increasing the tax base than keeping the lovely small town quality that has attracted visitors for over a century. Wal-mart and Home Depot are now the entryway to the city, which is also grabbing up neighboring woodlands and farms to build teeming subdivisions.
