Milwaukee is a great place to live and raise a fam - 6/4/2009
After reading one of the negative reviews about Milwaukee, I felt I needed to respond. The writer said the schools were bad. Obviously, he is referring to the "inner city" schools, because Milwaukee's suburbs have amazing schools. Particularly the North Shore schools. If anyone is interested, check www.bestschools.com and check of the Mequon-Thiensville schools,Cedarburg, Whitefish Bay, etc. Yes the winters are cold, but the people are not. I have lived here for 40 years and cannot imagine leaving this wonderful city with its symphony, ballet company, art museum, gorgeous lake front, best water system in the nation, and quality education system. Sounds to me like this person would not be happy anywhere. He also did not mentioned how amazingly clean it is either. We even have the State Fair right here in August. Milwaukee has two major league sports teams, baseball and basketball and we all enjoy the Packers. "Some" good restaurants? He is clearly smoking something if he thinks
