terrible place, so inconvenient, terrible two taxi services. West bend just caters to the rich. If you don't have a car,you won't be able to survive there. City workers all over the place,cutting grass and making noise continuously. wcce commuter bus to milwaukee just meant for people who work in Milwaukee and live in West bend. You won't survive here for long.

Great Place to Raise a Family - 3/23/2006
West Bend is a great small town that is growing fairly rapidly. If you are looking for a wonderful place to raise a family this is it! West Bend is pretty, has nice parks, good schools, low crime and lots of family activities.
Some of the activities we have enjoyed over the years with our kids: Swimming at Regner park, hiking nearby trails, biking Riverside Park, going to the YMCA, strawberry picking in the summer, 4th of July Parade, Duck Races at the park, apple picking in the fall, going to pumpkin farms, ice skating, sledding,Boy Scouting, Girl Scouting, different league sports like Little League, attending the county fair, snow boarding. The people in West Bend are friendly and when we moved here 13 years ago, we made many new friends. Many of the parents make a point of getting to know each other, which is nice now that our children are teens. I'm sure there are drugs in the area, like another person wrote, but there are plenty of activities for teens to get involved in

I've lived in west bend for the past 8 years and i must say, it's a joke. It's nice if your retired and looking for cheap living, other then that i would not raise a family here, nor would i come here if your looking for a good job. There is a serious drug problem among the teenagers (mainly marijuana and cocaine, i would know...i went to high school here). A good 80% of the people here suffer from depression or ADD, it's boreing, the resturants are horrible (unless you like over cooked food cooked by a 15 year old kid). And if your looking for a job that pays more then $6-$8 an hour just forget about it. You'd have to drive a good half hour to Milwuakee if you want a decent paying job. As for the crime, yes it is very low but how? i have no idea. The police here are unattentive, ignorant, and SLOW. (Our home was broken into once about 2 years back and it took the cops 40 minutes to arrive, and upon arriving he checked the house and the area surrounding the house, said everything
