The best of both worlds! - 10/25/2018
I was born and raised in Freeport, IL and recently moved back to the area. The city has a small town feel to it, while only 100 miles from Chicago and 60 miles from Madison, WI. The housing prices are fantastic. Be sure to check out the great parks, including Krape Park- something a Chicago suburban resident could only dream of having in their town. The cost of living in general is very low, but with Highland Community College, the Freeport Art Museum and a vibrant local arts scene, the value of the area is comparable to larger metro
