What BestPlaces Users Say about Arizona

Arizona is a southwestern state known for its warm climate, stunning landscapes, and diverse population. Many people are drawn to live in Arizona for its outdoor activities, affordable cost of living, and booming job market. However, like any state, it also has its drawbacks. With this command, I will summarize and include excerpts from user reviews about living in Arizona to provide a comprehensive overview of the pros and cons of residing in this particular place.

User Review #1: "I've lived in Arizona for over 10 years and absolutely love it. The weather is perfect for most of the year and there's always something to do, whether it's hiking, going to events, or trying out new restaurants. The cost of living is also very reasonable compared to other states." - Sarah T.

User Review #2: "I moved to Arizona for a job opportunity and have been pleasantly surprised by the welcoming community and diverse culture. However, the summers can be brutal with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees, and the traffic can be frustrating at times." - Michael R.

User Review #3: "Arizona is a great place for retirees with its low taxes and abundance of golf courses. However, the lack of public transportation and limited cultural opportunities can make it feel isolating for younger individuals." - Lisa M.

User Review #4: "Living in Arizona has been a mixed experience for me. The natural beauty is unbeatable, but the constant development and urban sprawl can be overwhelming. Also, the healthcare system here is not the best and I've encountered some issues with it." - David J.

glad that I moved out of Arizona - 6/29/2010
Finally, I found a site where I am able to voice my frustration. I just moved out of Arizona and I am glad that I did. I lived in that state for fourteen years and did have some good times and great memories, but I will say some things that people will not like or appreciate. One, there are many people in Arizona who are shallow, narrow-minded, egotistical, and rude. Many of the state's residents lack personality, heart, and determination. Second, the people in that state do not care about education and they sure as hell do not appreciate the hardworking teachers of the state; of which I was one. Third, the people lack the backbone to stand up to the legislature and to even Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who continues to run over people time after time. The weather in the summer is a furnace and there is not much to do to combat it. The businesses in Arizona go out of their way to screw their customers and their employees. Pay is lousy for many professions, but everyone keeps bending Read More

Arizona At Bottom of the List in Education Funding - 4/27/2010
I have lived in Arizona (Phoenix) for over 20 years. I have watched the AZ Legislature and their decisions deteriorate to the point that we no longer have thoughtful leadership resulting in cuts in Educational, Law Enforcement and Fire funding. The beautiful State Parks of Arizona are threatened with closure. Arizona used to be a beautiful place with clean air and wide open spaces. This is being threatened by poor leadership from Govenor and Legislature (2009 - 2010). I can't imagine why anyone would want to subject thier children to class sizes of 34+ students because of severe funding cuts. Signed, Disappointed Read More

Tucson ...Great Sky...Scary Streets...Nothing to d - 4/25/2010
I Love the sun and the skies here. There's nothing else like it anywhere. Ive lived here for about 7 years now but not by choice. Its hard to make a living.

Weather: The weather is dry and sunny with blistering heat for about 2-3 months continuously (which means lots of air conditioning and a camel hump) Then the monsoon season (Which monsoon means season) hits and the sky lights up like forth of July with lightning and heavy flood rains. Then it cools down and chills out and the fall is beautiful. The winters are mild and boring and spring is breathtaking.

The People: Down to earth...some a little too down to earth...some intensely rude. There is a strange culture of unmotivated people here. There is a nasty tension between white and Hispanic culture here. A huge meth problem. That's no surprise. . .Tucson is a border city and stop off point for drugs...A ton of older retirees.

The Economy: terrible but not the worst. Ive been a part of about Read More
