What BestPlaces Users Say about Arizona

Arizona is a southwestern state known for its warm climate, stunning landscapes, and diverse population. Many people are drawn to live in Arizona for its outdoor activities, affordable cost of living, and booming job market. However, like any state, it also has its drawbacks. With this command, I will summarize and include excerpts from user reviews about living in Arizona to provide a comprehensive overview of the pros and cons of residing in this particular place.

User Review #1: "I've lived in Arizona for over 10 years and absolutely love it. The weather is perfect for most of the year and there's always something to do, whether it's hiking, going to events, or trying out new restaurants. The cost of living is also very reasonable compared to other states." - Sarah T.

User Review #2: "I moved to Arizona for a job opportunity and have been pleasantly surprised by the welcoming community and diverse culture. However, the summers can be brutal with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees, and the traffic can be frustrating at times." - Michael R.

User Review #3: "Arizona is a great place for retirees with its low taxes and abundance of golf courses. However, the lack of public transportation and limited cultural opportunities can make it feel isolating for younger individuals." - Lisa M.

User Review #4: "Living in Arizona has been a mixed experience for me. The natural beauty is unbeatable, but the constant development and urban sprawl can be overwhelming. Also, the healthcare system here is not the best and I've encountered some issues with it." - David J.

Find The Climate That Suits You. - 7/30/2009
I've lived in Arizona for the better part of 40 years. I've resided in several different cities and several different climates within the state. Phoenix is known for being very hot and dry, and it is, but most people don't talk about the fact that it has 8 months of great weather from fall through spring. You can enjoy a lot of outdoor recreation during that period. Tucson is similar but with slightly cooler temperatures, 1000+ feet higher in elevation, and is surrounded by mountains. Payson and Prescott are in the central part of the state and have elevations in the 5000 feet range. Temperatures in those cities can still reach into the 100's at times but the evenings are usually cool and in winter they typically get snow falls that last a couple of days. Both areas are forested with tall pines and oak trees. Flagstaff is in the northern part of the state and is for those who like it cold. At nearly 7000 feet in elevation Flagstaff is always cool, even in the middle of summer daytime Read More

Treasured Land and Wildlife - 1/29/2009
I have lived in Arizona since 1976 and although there have been many negative changes to the valley, such as smog and polution and too many people - there have been many positive.

Even though alot of the nature is gone, rabbits, coyotes, orange, pecan groves, great places to dance, alot of the old run down shacks that immigrants squated in are gone and are now lanes and parks.

I think if people took the time to venture out to the beautiful lakes and places like Boyce Arboritium, ghost towns and caves - it is a wonderful state. Take Arizona flora and fauna classes at SCC and learn about the habitat in which you live and how you can contribute instead of just complaining. Just 2hrs. away from the north rim country, ride the train in Williams and the Canyon, The Painted Desert, Native Ruins, Petrified Forest, The Caverns in Tucson and 2hrs or so from Laughlin and Vegas.

Come on - Get Happy! This State has tons to offer you just have to get out there Read More

I would like to know the warmth city in Arizona. - 12/29/2008
Here in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is alway cold and I am looking forward to moving to a warmer climate. This cold climate is not good for my leg so it is a nice place to live but I am tired of this cold weather. 37 years here is enough for me. I love a warmer climate. Thank You.

Sincerely,

Sandra Read More
