What BestPlaces Users Say about Arizona

Arizona is a southwestern state known for its warm climate, stunning landscapes, and diverse population. Many people are drawn to live in Arizona for its outdoor activities, affordable cost of living, and booming job market. However, like any state, it also has its drawbacks. With this command, I will summarize and include excerpts from user reviews about living in Arizona to provide a comprehensive overview of the pros and cons of residing in this particular place.

User Review #1: "I've lived in Arizona for over 10 years and absolutely love it. The weather is perfect for most of the year and there's always something to do, whether it's hiking, going to events, or trying out new restaurants. The cost of living is also very reasonable compared to other states." - Sarah T.

User Review #2: "I moved to Arizona for a job opportunity and have been pleasantly surprised by the welcoming community and diverse culture. However, the summers can be brutal with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees, and the traffic can be frustrating at times." - Michael R.

User Review #3: "Arizona is a great place for retirees with its low taxes and abundance of golf courses. However, the lack of public transportation and limited cultural opportunities can make it feel isolating for younger individuals." - Lisa M.

User Review #4: "Living in Arizona has been a mixed experience for me. The natural beauty is unbeatable, but the constant development and urban sprawl can be overwhelming. Also, the healthcare system here is not the best and I've encountered some issues with it." - David J.

Arizona RE Market - 5/21/2006
Despite the talk about Real Estate bubble, Arizona's economy is good, and well presented and marketed homes are selling. When you compare the frenzy to 2005 one may think otherwise. However, the market is at a nice pace right now. Arizona land is a good investment.

No shortage of housing in Arizona - 5/2/2006
Arizona has plenty of room to grow. There still remains many new home build sites throughout the state of Arizona. New home building is still thriving in Phoenix surburban areas and offering great incentives. The resale single-family home real estate market has transitioned into a buyer's market and at one point in February, there were over 40,000 homes active on the Arizona Regional MLS.

The inventory of available will most likely be decreased in the upcoming months, however even if reduced by 20%, a supply of around 4-6 months of homes will be available. This is in sharp contrast to 2005, where at times, the greater Phoenix area had about 3 weeks max worth of inventory available.

Of course, this will all depend on supply and demand. Currently, the Arizona real estate market has a great amount of supply and decline in demand. One thing there is not a decline in is shortage of housing in Arizona.

moving - 4/11/2006
I presently live in Upstate New York. I want to move where is always sunny. I am not a fan of humidity, though. I have lived in Florida, and California during my college years. Florida was too humid. Cali was beautiful! I would however like to live closer to my family if I could. I have a lot of nieces and nephews, and I like to see them alot. Taking a plane all the time would be expensive. I don't mind long drives 8-16 hours. I am overwhelmed by all the info on the net. If you could lead me in the right directions that would be great. I am interested in knowing more about the warmer areas of the northeast- Maryland, virginia, the carolinas. But I am not limited to them--- Arizona, oregon, cali, etc-- whatever you feel fits my interests. Interests are: sunny weather 60-90 all year long, near oceans and or lakes. I am in my late 20-30's, I would like to be around the 30+ crowd. I work in the restaurant, catering business,I bartend, and I work for a dentist. So a professional area Read More
