I love living in MD because I am not only close to DC and Baltimore (and I love the museums, theaters, restaurants, symphonies, etc) - but also because I am not that far from New York City (a FABULOUS city) or the Eastern Shore (Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean).
