Hello - Sperling's is asking me to comment on where I live during my registration process, so here it goes :-)
Specifically, it's Guilderland where I'm located althought that option isn't available in the drop down menu.
Guilderland has been a nice place for my husband and I to live with our two young boys. The schools are great. Farnsworth is the Middle School my oldest child attends. He enjoys it but more importantly, the Teachers, Principal and Guidance Councelor are only a email away. I like that they are willing to call or meet you for whatever reason.
Guilderland Elementary is the school my younger son attends and the Kindergarten program was very good for him. It was a average sized classroom (22 students) that had plenty of books, activities and a assistant teacher who was equally loved by my son.
As for Guilderland itself, there are plenty of places to eat, shopping (mall right down the road) located around lots of things to do; Towasentha Park (awesome park with a lifeguarded pool and lots of sprawling lawns and hiking/jogging trails, simply gorgeous.), Thatcher Park (near or in Altamont I believe) about an hour or so from Lake George, Downtown Albany has museums, concerts, parks, theaters, etc. Getting to the NYS Thruway/Northway is easy so work is only a 10 minute drive for me :-) I like where I live!
