Wow! Not sure where you are from but, sorry. I am originally from the Chicago Area and have lived in Appleton for almost 20 years. While my affinity for Chicago is still great, I know consider Appleton my home. The people were and have been very welcoming and Appleton offers the best of big city ammenities with minimal commutes and cost. People are gracious, hard working and unassuming in Appleton. (I cant speak for the rest of WI since I've only ever lived in Appleton) I could walk to - a Broadway show, a fish fry at a local Tavern, a five start restaurant, miles of beautiful trails, musical estivals, or a farmers market all from my front door. Appleton is a hidden gem of a city. If you found the people here snobby - you probably came with the wrong attitude to begin with. Please don't spoil our happy place.
