Ashburn Village, Virginia

Ashburn is part of the growing population of Northern Virginia. A planned community, largely built in the 1990's, Ashburn was one of the first developments in eastern Loudoun County to receive the influx of professionals seeking more affordable housing (and willing to commute to jobs in Fairfax County and Washington, DC.) Ashburn Village offers a pleasant and tidy suburban living experience with many amenities including a beautiful sports and recreation complex. Public transportation is virtually nonexistent, however.
Schools in the area are of high quality and the HOA keeps a tight rein on the appearance of the community. Grounds maintenance is superb and trash/recycling services are top rate.
All this comes at a cost however. Home prices have risen to extremely high levels and the general cost of living is quite high. Pace of life is also harrowing at times.
Ashburn Village is a fine place to raise children, but the area is a bit too pricey to afford a comfortable living in retirement.
