bloomington is a modernday support town. it exists to support ISU and State Farm insurance. If you don't work for one of these two entities then you support them. Because the sister city of Normal was until recently a "dry" town, the culture and growth of the city reflect the remenance of the old days. 2 hours from Chicago and 2 hours from St. Louis this is a great city to raise a family if you are already established in a career, but fresh out of college and you might have a problem.
