Review of Boise City, Idaho

VERY HOT
Star Rating - 5/26/2018
I moved from a higher elevation and am having quite a difficult time adjusting to this heat. I work outside so it's definitely an issue. It truly doesn't rain for 5 months or so in the summer. Very, very hot. There's no way that the real avg daily temp is only 90°.

Yes, it is a lot hotter than the stats and guides say. We have been planning to move there sometime. We have visitedt several times in winter so July was a surprise. What amazed me was the sense of isolation. There is no getting away to for a change. Just knowing it is two days or more to reach a major city is stiffling. I anticipate a long retirement as caregiver. Getting away for a short break is hard now, but will be impossible to when I drive 4 days back and forth for a change of scenery. I do not look forward to bussing out of state. Wish the rail service still came to Boise. Guess flying is the only way out.

To CE reply post. Yes there are planes available. Boise even has an airport. So actually it's not a two day event to get to a "major city". Also I might add that Portland Oregon is 400 miles away. I would describe Portland as a major city, and with no traffic lights between Boise and Portland, that's a 5 Hour Drive. Not two days to and from. Unless of course you're driving a 1916 model T and then yes indeed that may take you two days traveling at 20 mph.
