For most, Boise is a great place to live

If you love recreation and outdoor activities Boise is a good place to be. There's plenty to do outdoors. Camping, hiking, biking, swimming, skiing, floating the river, etc. Those are all just minutes from home. You can also enjoy a decent nightlife in Boise. Downtown can be vibrant and is improving to be better with more downtown living coming to life.
You'll also fun into your fair share of inconviences here too. Not some of the stores your used to maybe. Also, traffic is bad but only because of bad planning. And as far as the planning is going it's not getting much better. The people are very nice but very reluctant to let the city grow or evolve. City projects get put on hold for months or years because of the community constantly. Boise is a better place for people middle aged and older, better if you have an established career. If you are looking to start anything in Boise don't bother. Crime is low but news is non-existent. Boise is a great place to live but it's not for everybody.
