Boise is great if you are married, but if you are looking for a vibrant single professional community over the age of 29, you might want to consider a bigger city. I found the single professional community in Boise to be either young, outdoorsy granola types, or divorced people with kids. There seemed to be very few thirtysomething single professionals. Boise's single professional community is also very male dominated due to all the engineers & scientists relocated there by large high tech employers in the area. Single professional women in their thirties might want to give it a look.
