This may not be the place for you...

Traffic is horrendous!!! There are far too many New Yorkers (90%) and they are generally rude, nosy, set in their ways and, although they bailed out of New York, want desparately this corner of SE FL to be just like New York. They whine about how great it is in New York. I wish they would go away, not necessarily in the summer.
Things are too far apart. You must have a car down here because you will spend an inordinate amount of time driving from point A to point B. There is little effective mass transportation which contributes to all the wackos determined to get to the red light before you.
It has weather which is lovely. That's the number one reason I am here, again. Midwest winters are intolerable for me. But I had transportation of all kinds, places to walk to, and ways to get my basic needs met without leaving the neighborhood. Not so here. I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale and there simply isn't such a thing as "old Florida." If you are a New Yorker you will do well - scam to your hearts content. I'm trying to go elsewhere!
