Review of Brookfield, Illinois

Nice Looking, Not Nice to Live In
Star Rating - 12/28/2006
Most of Brookfield is in a flood plain, thus most basements get water in storms, and if you live near the creek (by the zoo), regardless of the price of your house, you're going to get water. Also, Brookfield is more of a blue-collar place, as opposed to white collar, meaning that many people in Brookfield lack education and have labor jobs. If you want to live with people who have class, you can do much better than Brookfield. I am a former resident. It was a good stepping stone, but is not a place to raise your kids and live forever. Brookfield is more like living in Chicago than living in the suburbs.

I live by the creek and the zoo and have not had water in my basement, as long as your have permaseal and a sump pump you will be ok.
