People that do not possess the energy or earning potential to thrive in major cities gravitate to dumps like Cheyenne. I worked with a meth head girl who talked frequently about how great Cheyenne was because it was "so easy" for her to find a job and a place to live. She was frequently absent and under the influence, but did in fact keep her job and a place to live. In a more competitive urban area, she would not survive. Cheyenne's standards are so low that virtually anyone can get a job and survive, and that same downward curve reaches into the professional segments so the city has a professional class that is qualtitatively much lower than in urban areas. It is a hick town with a very low standard of life except for people with very simple and low expectations. This blogger here undoubtedly lacked the initiative to make it in cities and she is better off in a small town.
