Review of Cincinnati, Ohio

Cincinnati is AWFUL
Star Rating - 6/13/2007
Cincinnati is not a good place to live. The crime in the city is bad, the city's public schools are bad, the job market is depressing and just image that I received my Master degree from University of Cincinnati two years ago and I only make $28,000 a year and companies are not willing to pay more unless you have 5 to 10 years of experience. Downtown is dead on weekends and after everyone leaves their office. People are not friendly and many are just down right racist. This is not a good place to raise a family and I would not move here unless you are ready for high crime, rude and racist people, and poor job growth and poor salaries.

I am planning to move to Cincinnati in 2009. I am single and nearing retirement but I want to take courses at UC and participate in intellectual discussion groups. I am also protestant and conservative Republican. Can you suggest a good section town for me?

Yep. I’ve grown up here, moved, then came back, and it’s not a good place. Stick to the suburbs. Do NOT go live in urban areas. It’s not pretty. Heroin. Everywhere. I mean. A lot. Avoid Camp Washington, Price Hill, Norwood, Amelia is ok, Green township in some areas, Fairfield, Mt Adams, Mt Auburn, Blue Ash, Milford. North side is a little rough tbh. I’d stick to places you feel safe. Seriously. I’m moving away from here when I get my education and some money saved up. I should have never came here. I miss my hometown. I miss feeling safe. I’m serious. Someone was shot to death in front of my apartment in Camp Washington. Someone was shot to death recently in Fountin Square..the MIDDLE of downtown!!! I lived in North Carolina, and let me tell you, North Carolina was MORE progressive and TOLERANT than Cincinnati. If that doesn’t tell you anything, I don’t know what will. Look you can listen or not, but this place isn’t good. It’s ghetto. The whole city. Outside. Not as much. But there are better places. We aren’t Cleaveland or Detroit, but look at crime rates and you decide. F*** this place. I’m out.
