grew up there

I grew up in CMH and couldn't wait thru OSU to get out. I have lived in S. Texas for 30+ years, which has its own set of problems. Noplace is perfect, it's just a matter of what you're willing to put up with. I never could take the winters up there, nor the conservatism. However, Columbus has greatly improved since I lived there, and I still love to see the tuba dot the I at halftime. Sometimes I think about moving back to be near my family, but was a misplaced Texan while I was growing up--just didn't know what the problem was, found out on a vacation, and boogied. So far I have remained on the fence moving back to CMH, but I fly up every 6 months to see the folks. It's always great to see them, all the trees and flowers, the houses like I grew up in, the history my ancestors were a part of... I dunno.
