Columbus, Ohio has a great housing market. There are plenty of low cost accommodations that fit to most people's circumstance. Either renting or buying, you WILL find something. For the real estate investor, it can be a wise risk, of sorts. There are many universities and colleges which keep values up. There are also many smaller municipalities and townships that are responsive to the needs of their communities. This means that you could live in Columbus proper, but be on the edge of one of these communities and reap all of the rewards that they offer. The City Government is also very proactive in keeping the community thriving by investing in infrastructure, supporting emergency services, and looking out for the arts communities. They regularly partner with the university and other civic organizations to create new and fresh ideas and activities. I also want to mention that one of the biggest and most prestigious research universities lives in Columbus, The Ohio State University. There's more to tell, but you kinda get the picture.
