Columbus is supposedly a "melting pot" that is culturally diverse and interesting. But, for an African American, Columbus is a dead city with everything set up for people not of African descent. There are little to no cultural activities for Black people here, and what little does go on is empty fluff. Jobs here for Black people are hard to get, especially if you don't fit into the conservative ideal of what a Black person is supposed to be like and act like. There are no Black arts, other than the conservative Martin Luther King Center, whose patronage is primarily the "Blacks" that are in good with the "right" people. There are no true Black museums, or anything that is by and for Black people. Overall, Columbus is for those Blacks like Bryan Gumball and Wayne Brady.
