Sounds like a nice place to live

I lived in MI for 34 years then moved to AZ to escape the long winters and lack of sunshine. I did find that the grass is not always greener! I realize that MI and OH have relatively short summers, but there are seasons! And colors and change! While AZ has some absolutely breathtaking scenery when you get out of the suburbs; you give up large, lush grassy yards for small, hot, rock filled ones. Every season LOOKS the same--day after day. Yes, we do have over 300 days of sunshine, but even that gets boring. Never thought I'd admit that!! Plus the sun is sooo intense, I find that even when it is not sweltering hot outside, it can be extremely uncomfortable. My kids and I do not enjoy the summers here. Too hot to enjoy bike-riding, playing basketball outside etc. We spend most of our time IN THE HOUSE during the months the kids are out of school for summer break! I go crazy trying to find things to do all day. Can't afford to drive up north to cool off, nor to spend time up there. Sure it cools off only 1 hr drive away. But what do you do with 3 kids when you can't afford to stay the night up there? Or can't afford to take the kids somewhere to cool off? Not trying to put down AZ; it has a lot to offer to the right people. It is just not for us. Wanting to move back to MI to be by family, but economy too bad. Reading about Columbus, OH, and it really sounds nice. I may give it a try. Looking forward to having seasons again! And Cedar Point!!
