Depends what you want-from a native's standpoint

I have lived in Columbus almost my whole life and it really depends what you want. I agree with Robert that people are the fattest most unhealthy in country. Its like a freak show at the grocery stores. Which proves the fact that there is little "Lifestyle" and activities here. Unless your really into football (the buckeyes) there's not much excitement. There is a small art scene in the short north district which is ok. Let me be clear- the land is very flat, it is not scenic here at all. You have to go south for any good hiking/outdoor experiences. No good water either, we have a couple small lakes but their nasty. Some of the suburbs are good to raise a family (only the most expensive ones). I was raised in the schools here and most of them are below average. Northwest columbus has the best schools (Powell, Dublin, Hilliard) All richer areas.
Overall its urban sprawl and malls as far as the eye can see. If your a professional couple you will be able to afford a nice house. Lifestyle mostly is going out to eat (this is restaurant chain city!) going to the malls, lots of places to shop if that's what you want. Eating and shopping and football are the main events. People are mostly friendly here. Weather is really hot and stuffy in the summer and from late Oct thru May it is Grey spitting rain weather (terrible) snow is wet if it ever snows. Best months are May-June and September. I am a young professional considering moving to a place that is more scenic and sunny and has a outdoor lifestyle. This is only one natives opinion.
