Great city for many reasons

Columbus is a really great city. The downtown, city-life (Short North, German Village, OSU Campus area) always has great, happening events going on. There are wonderful parks in the downtown area that are wonderful places to relax and play. If the downtown scene isn't your thing, there are lots of great suburbs, including Westerville (great fun at beautiful nearby Hoover Reservoir!), Dublin, Hilliard, Worthington, and charming Upper Arlington. The higher-end suburb areas are just outside 270 starting at about Hilliard (9 o'clock position) around 270 to about Gahanna (about the 3 o'clock position). The bottom half of the city has some decent areas (Grove City is really working hard to be a higher-end area and has brought in builders of higher-end houses and some great restaurants). There's always festivals in the summer, great museums, excellent restaurants, and, of course, the Buckeyes (you pretty much HAVE to be a Buckeye fan in this town as it is a popular topic of conversation!) We have a very nice diversity of people and interests, excellent hospitals and universites, and a low cost-of-living, making life pretty affordable.
