Michael is "off target"

Guess I'm late to the party on this one, but some of these negative posts, especially Michael's, made me laugh.
According to Michael, "I live in one of the suburbs that just past the smoking ban." Columbus has extensive educational opportunities...perhaps Michael should have taken advantage of the many colleges located in Columbus? Not to mention the smoking ban is now state-wide, although Columbus has had a smoking ban in effect since 2004. Whoa, how backwards is that?!!
I would love to know what reputable study ranked Columbus third in the nation for alcohol consumption. Having one of the largest public universities in the country in Columbus may contribute to a higher rate of alcohol consumption...but that public university is also ranked in the Top 20 Public Universities by U.S. News and World Report. Check out how many top-ranked programs there are at OSU.
As far as your problem with bland food and obese people, are you hanging out at Denny's or Waffle House? What restaurants is Columbus missing? Columbus has Japanese/Sushi, Chinese, Korean, Indian, Greek, tapas, authentic Mexican and Italian, microbreweries, Mediterranean and probably many more varieties a "Wonderbread" person such as myself can't remember at the moment. It sounds like you didn't try to hard to find anything but "white bread." It's really easy though...just drive past the Olive Garden and find a more authentic restaurant.
Columbus is consistently ranked well in terms of health care. Check the rankings yourself!
Perhaps Columbus is a bit behind in the trends. However, we have the same chain stores that are located in every other state in the country as well as exclusive boutique shops, so perhaps you are just too cool and trendy for the place. Did you think you were moving to NYC or Milan?
Well, it's a good thing you moved. I would hate for Columbus to turn into a city like Atlanta or Denver (out of control traffic and housing prices), so I love it when pessimists leave. Actually if you're still in Columbus, perhaps you should consider Denver or Atlanta...I think you'd love both places.
