City of the future? Maybe.

Columbus has a lot going for it. Unlike other midwestern towns, it does not have a manufacturing economy and is rich in white collar jobs. It is very clean, fairly safe and very easy to get around. It has had recent growth spurts that have increased its population to over 700,000 but it doesn't feel that big. OSU helps attract more cultural activities. Prior to my arrival here, I thought since I was moving to a university town, I thought I'd find the liberal bastion of Ohio, but it is a conservative town including the college students. People are happy with the status quo, which contributes to its small town feel. All in all this is a pleasant place that is great to raise kids.
