Lived in Commack for over 40 years. This is a great place to raise a family. Schools are tops. Neighborhoods are middle going to upper middle and properties well kept. Friendly people. Lots of shopping. Excellent medical care. Low crime. Feel safe walking around neighborhood day or night. Good drinking water. Nice summers. Great beaches, parks etc. Only negative is property taxes are high here In Nassau and Suffolk counties but so are salaries so it is all relative. The Enhanced Star program has helped lower taxes for us in retirement so we are able to age in place.
