Review of Connecticut, Connecticut

Expensive to Live Here
Star Rating - 10/28/2009
Connecticut has its ups and downs. If you like the 4 seasons its great. But its very expensive to live here. On a home valued at $250,000, local property tax can range from $3,000 - $6,000, depending on the city or town's mill rate. The State is going broke because it borrows money for everything and the economic downturn has hurt the State's fund balance. The State has fell short of funding the local municipalities which causes increases in property taxes. With a democratic controlled state, This seems to be a tax and spend state even with a Republican governor. The upside is although you may pay more, salaries also pay more if you can find a job. More and more businesses are leaving and will continue to leave if business taxes go up.
