Review of Cortland, Illinois

Where is Cortland?
Star Rating - 7/13/2007
Cortland is a small town that most people "drive through" on their way to Sycamore or DeKalb. However, that will most likely change within the next 5 years.

The "downtown" area has re-zoned many of the residential areas into commercial, bringing a projected 62% job increase. As a new resident myself, this is great news because I typically have to travel to other cities for...well...everything.

More established residents are upset with the new zoning. This is a small town, and small town residents often feel threatened by the kind of rapid growth that this town is currently experiencing.

Even if all of the land in Cortland is developed it will still be a "small town". So if you're looking to move out to this area do it now while prices are still reasonable. 7/13/07
