I love my small town

I was born in Ft Walton and was raised in Crestview. I have lived in other places like Ga, Tx, and Az....but my home is here. It used to be a quaint little town, but we are growing. Maybe we aren't where we should be culturally, but that is changing too. Every year, there is less and less of the "red neck" attitude people are so fond of talking about. The whole population of Crestview shouldn't be judged off of the actions of a few. As far as things to do....you can fish, swim, and camp within 15 miles of the center of town. Within 30 miles, you can go to the Gulf of Mexico and play or go to Andalusia and ride four wheelers at Boggs and Boulders. Want to shop? In one hour or so (or less), you can be in Destin, Pensacola or Panama City. Get tired of the beach and you can go to the country life 20 miles north of Crestview in Laurel Hill or Florala. My kids were raised here...and did just fine. Traffic is bad sometimes, but people are nice...and most of them will stand up for what is right (imagine that). I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love it here. So...for those of you that can't see the value...you are welcome to leave and make room for someone that appreciates it.
