Ellicott City located in Howard County, Maryland is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. The public school system is ranked one of the best in the country, the county his well managed and there are plenty of parks and recreational activities for all members of a familiy. Crime is very low. Housing is quite expensive and the new sales tax rate is 6%, but a it is great place to live close to Washington D.C. and Baltimore.
