Ellijay is a town for "good ol' boys" who misuse funds to line their own pockets while the town itself flounders. Blue Ridge to the north and Jasper to the south are both growing by leaps and bounds and are very visitor and newcomer friendly. If it weren't for that nasty chicken plant, Ellijay wouldn't even merit a stop light on the highway. I've lived here for 17 years and watched people in power get rich while the town and county struggles. Will be moving as soon as I can.
