Goldfield, Iowa REALLY is Small Town, USA! We have a population of just under 1000, but enjoy so many of the advantages of a larger town. Goldfield is a place where you don't have to lock your doors 24/7, a place where neighbors look out for each other, a place where you can enjoy life at a little more leisurel pace.
We moved to Goldfield seven years ago, and just love it more each year. We know our neighbors. Last week, when one of our cats got out, the next door neighbor not only called to let us know (we hadn't realized it yet) but put Hazel in a cat carrier and kept her at their house till we got home from work that night, and then brought her home to us.
