Review of Goodyear, Arizona

What I have noticed..
Star Rating - 8/23/2009
I the three years that we have lived here, I have noticed many homes, go on the market, and many go up for rent/lease. I have seen some people just walk away from their homes.

This is our first home and we our intent on keeping it, barring any misfortune. For the most part, we are both employed, and the bills come first. The mortgage payment has been on time, with the exception of one snafu, I mailed the wrong envelope..OK, my bad, but the point I'm making is that on my block, for two homes that have just seen new owners, two more are up for sale, and my neighbor just told my wife that they may be headed for foreclosure.
We can walk the streets at night, walk our dogs, but I do notice some grafetti, but I have also noticed that the Goodyear Police department has a zero tolerance for this. Which, coming from Los Angles, I find very reassuring. Plus, as a neighbor of mine put it, "We're neighbors, we have to look out for one another."
What Goodyear needs, and I think what all these "New" Suburbs need, is for the jobs to come to them, or at least close enough that people can not only find good jobs, and I don't mean just Wal-mart and Target, but the Companies and Corporations that pay enough to sustain households. Build communities back to what America used to be. What the American dream used to be. For all Americans.
