Review of Greenville township (Somerset County) pa Not Fo, North Dakota

Greenville, PA, a little paradise in a crazy world
Star Rating - 5/5/2019
Greenville, and surrounding Hempfield Township, are nestled between two major interstates, I-79 going north and south and I-80 going east and west. It is equidistant between Pittsburgh and Erie in PA and Cleveland, OH. Taxes are low and the people are very friendly. It's a country town that shares the area with many Amish communities. Pymatuning State Park, with the largest lake in PA is only 10 miles away with great outdoor recreation. The spring, summer and fall months are awesome with low humidity and temps that aren't too hot. The winters can be cold but no major dumps of snow - just lake effect snows (from Lake Erie) that usually drop inches of snow per day but are manageable. There are some good restaurants like the Gallery Grille, Stone Arch, Carini's, Compadres, The Majestic (worlds best hotdogs) and The Bent Fork that cover most tastes. If you want a nice beach (like NJ, MD, etc) the beaches at Presque Isle (1 hour away) are awesome and very similar (just fresh water, no sharks!) Great town for retirement or as a bedroom community where you commute. Give it a look-see! I did and stayed for going on 24 years.
