housing WAS cheap. this original comment was 2006. its 2022 now and home values have skyrocketed as coastal folks have moved to indiana like krazy and driven up home prices. our house was $172k in 2013..its now valued at $350k....trust me...local salaries have not gone up to match that. if you are selling out of living west or east coast and have $1M in the bank after closing...you will LOVE moving here and paying $350k cash for a house. our roads suck and always have. the weather sucks most of the year. people go NUTS tyring to do everything they ever dreamed of during the summer months. we really ahve 2 seasons, furnace, and a/c.
