Review of Hackettstown, New Jersey

First the good about New Jersey, the "Garden State" of our nation. NJ is a great state for employment opportunities, top-notch medical care is available in both NJ and NY, easy access to NYC, lots of sports teams, great night life, first-class restaurants, and endless shopping opportunites. So what could be so bad about NJ... the common bad attitude, traffic, cost of living, commute time, bad air, bad water, superfund sites, one of a few states with a "death tax", and quality of life. The traffic on Rt 80 comes to a complete stop on a daily basis, and the people in this state don't handle traffic very well. The state boasts the 1st or 2nd highest auto insurance rates in the country for the past decade. With NY and Philly bording the northern and southern portions of the state, NJ is on big 'burb. It has a rushed city-like feel without actually being a large metro area. NJ tries to lure companies into the state from it's metropolitan neighbors, and succeeds quite well in doing so. However this leads to a large amount of industrial facilities which release toxic substances into the air and water supply. Not one county in the state of NJ passes the EPA guidelines for clean air... not one! And the bad manners in New Jersey are second-to-none, especially on the road. Before you move your family to NJ, do your homework, then come, visit, and see for yourself.
