The person who wrote this obviously hurt and traumatized by my city. The people here are quite rude, true. And yes, they are definitely "cliquey". But most of all, we're very blunt in Houston. So rather than receiving a fake smile and a warm welcome, my city's natives probably treated Alicia like they didn't know and didn't care to get to know her. But for very good reason: we DON'T care and we DON'T want to get to know you. Not to be a jerk or anything, but there are over 2 million people in Houston. We don't have time to stroke every ego and provide a personal warm embrace to every face we meet. Sorry, not sorry. This rant sounded like a spoiled brat in elementary crying like she got bullied, when in actually she just got treated like everyone else. Like you're sad we didn't go around the room and pretend to all wasn't too know your name and interests and hobbies like you're the new kid in elementary school or something. There's literally an endless amount of things to do in Houston, outdoors, indoors, pet friendly, music, games, adventurous, artistic, etc. So that was a complete lie. The only truth to it was the distance you may have to travel to get to some of these things. Unfortunately it may be a 30 minute drive to some fun places, but native Houstonians know that you can drive for an hour in Houston... And still be in Houston. So we've grown immune to travel times honestly. Lastly, I'm sorry that you feel like my city is too flat, which I'll admit that it definitely is. But for the life of me, I can't understand why you would WANT to walk up a step hill or drive on a highway alongside a cliff (both of which I've done repeatedly in other cities) just to go to the store. But by all means, if that's what you're into, then yes, Houston is definitely not for you. I've visited Pennsylvania, Atlanta, south Carolina, Orlando, new York, San Diego and Chicago for either work or vacation. All of these major places and not one compares to Houston, not a single one... So by all means, I want you to know from the bottom of my heart, Houston wants you to return back overseas just as much as you do sweetheart. Bye bye
