Winter lasts from late Nov. to mid-March. The last half of March and all of April really aren't Spring. It's chilly and wet. Spring is May, and it's great! So is June. July and through mid August are hot and humid, but not all that bad. Fall is the Iowa's best season. September and October are wonderful. Sunshine, mild temps, blue skies, great fall color in mid-October. Early to mid-November isn't bad. It starts clouding up, and it's chillier, but it's not cold. Late November is to Fall what April is to Spring: chilly and wet. I've said for years that Iowans have short memories. By late November you remember what Winter's going to be like, but by then it's too late to leave.
