The wind seems to always blow in Western Iowa. Helps in the 2-3 months that it really gets hot, but, in the winter will chill you to the bone. Wind breaks are a must but new construction usually doesn't come with many trees. Be prepared to lay out some cash for semi-mature trees or you'll have chilly winter's.
