Lack of Quality of Life

I have lived in Jesup for several years but have lived near Wayne County for almost 30 years. Jesup isn't the place for families, there is no economic development, small minded leadership, and a racist community just to name a few. There is outdoor recreation like hunting, fishing, and county recreation sports but these cater to the locals who have been raised here. Jesup has the potential to be a truly great community as it's located in southeast Georgia. The weather is great year round, close proximity to Savannah, GA and Jacksonville, FL which both are within 1.5 hours drive, Macon, GA is 3 hours away and Atlanta, GA is 4 hours away. Jesup can be crossroads to many rural and middle GA communities and it does have the small town friendly feel. The people are friendly, however, if you aren't from here then you will always be a guest and you never truly become part of the community. The school system is at it's worst and there are no quality of life perks that would make someone want to stay here. Most people move here to take a job at Rayonier Paper Mill however many choose to live in Glynn County.
