A Nice Small Town

I've lived here for ten years. I moved from Chicago which was getting too expensive for me. The houses here are modest, no McMansions, but the city is nice, the people are friendly and there is a real sense of community here. Lake Station is not problem-free, but there is very little violent crime, it is safe, the schools are good and if you need to speak with the Mayor, you just make an appointment. We would like a few more stores in town, but we DO have a good business community and there are other, similar towns all around us. I like the slower pace of life here. My only complaint is that in the summer, the mosquitoes are horrible around sundown.
