Unfortunately, our fair city has been monopolized by developers for nearly two plus decades who have wielded the "big ax" of City Development and Growth. Somehow they have been able to convince the right magazines and other media influences that this "once lovely community on the Rio Grande" is the "Best of Everything". The City has had rampant growth with minimal time to step back and breathe. Zoning and plans have changed to almost appease the developers wishes. New retirees have brought in their big dollars from California and northern states to drive costs ridiculously high. The infrastructure, planned for a smaller community, is way behind the growth rate and traffic is becoming unbearable. The local City and County Politicians are not handling the situation as well as they could, being caught between developers who have their insatiable appetite of more and the local populace who want a slower and more thoughtful pace. Wise people would be smart not to be taken in by these "Best of ....s". Look at the movie before you settle on the title!
