Good general information. Longboat Key is actually in 2 counties, the Northern 1/2 in Manatee County and the Southern 1/2 in Sarasota county. The average household income is more around $110,000+. The average age is 73 years old. The few ( less than 300 less than 18 years old) children go to either Manatee or Sarasota county schools.
I was born in Sarasota and have for the last 50 years lived in the Manatee county portion in the old Fishing Village part of town. The north end is more homes/ houses and the South end is mostly Condos. A very large number of residences ( 54%) are vacation rentals Orr 2nd/ 3rd homes for the wealthy retirees from elsewhere.
