Review of Lothair, Montana

Lothair, Montana 59461
Star Rating - 4/5/2009
Your information on Lothair Montana is way off base! There are only 11 people who live in the main part of town. We have our own zip code but no Post Office. The crime rate is zero unless you count the neighbors loose dog crapping in your yard a major crime. There are only nine houses in the main town, 4 of which are unoccupied. Everybody in town is employed so our unemployment rate is zero. Lothair is in Liberty County, not Glacier County. there are only homes, two abandoned grain elevators and the main line of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad in Lothair. It is on the north side of US highway 2 Between Chester MT. to the East and Shelby MT. to the west. It is located on what is referred to as "The Hi-Line" 35 miles south of the Canadian Border. The town is surrounded by wheat fields on all sides. The main road running through town starts south on US highway 2 and runs North to the Whitlash Border crossing to Canada. Lake Elwell is 6 miles south of Lothair and provides great access to boating and fishing recreation.
