Bluegrass Quality of Life

Louisville just might be the best-kept secret in North America. If you must have big-city amenities - major league sports, gridlocked traffic, hub airports, overpriced, shoddy housing - you might want to look elsewhere. But versus other medium-sized metro arees (1 million, plus or minus) you won't find many that compete. The restaurant scene alone is exceptional, the arts excellent, downtown is booming, clean, and growing, and housing is still cheap and high-quality. It may be the only place in the Southeast US where urbane, bohemian, liberal types and traditional, conservative folk could both find their slice of paradise.
