Louisville doesn't have 1 million people. Jefferson County/Louisville Metro has about 740,000 people. Maybe 1.2 million in the 30 mile radius around Louisville but not 1 million in Louisville. Louisville has 740,000 only because in 2003 they enacted a Metro form of government which I might add is quite corrupt and backwards. That's why a lot of people are moving out of the city and to other parts of Kentucky or across the bridge in Southern Indiana. Since I have lived in Louisville, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Northwest Indiana, I see Louisville as a minor league city. Even a step down from Cincinnati. No real museums in Louisville not even the so called Muhammad Ali Center can be counted. Maybe you can count JB Speed Art museum which isn't all that much anyway. A piddling small zoo. Its really just a bunch of bars, restaurants, and some mediocre shopping. Not to mention one of the worst urban job markets in the USA and THAT was prior to the economic crash of 2008. Sorry but I lived all over the city of Louisville at one time and its a joke of a city. I lived in the South End near Okolona, on Dixie Hwy near PRP, and in the Anchorage/Prospect area. Its a joke of a city and pretends to be something that it is not. Also, you don't want to send your kids to the Jefferson County Public Schools because they are totally pathetic being one of the worst ranked schools in the whole Commonwealth of Kentucky. In fact, 118th out of 154 school districts in the whole state! The job market is for the less than ambitious. In fact, ambition and hard work are frowned on in Louisville as well as self discipline. Nowhere have I ever met a lazier group of people than what I saw in Louisville. Even hoods in Northern cities at least have the gumption to get off their butt and go mug someone or actually get out. In Louisville, they sleep in mom's spare bedroom until 12 or 1pm. Anyone who has an education and common sense should avoid the toilet known as Louisville like a plague. There are just better options and either mid sized cities, college towns, and other metro areas like Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Columbus, OH, Nashville, St. Louis, that have better opportunities.
